I just finished my own independent test of four different blades on my very thick heavy middle aged Mediterranean beard. I shaved 3-4 times with each blade. I use a quality badger hair brush, a Parker 90R razor, Taylor of Old Bond shaving cream followed by a splash of Clubman aftershave. With out question the Shark blades out performed the others. Smooth as silk across my face with no burn and no nicks. I get 7-8 shaves with the Sharks before I change. 2 of the others didn't last 3 shaves. Remember if you shave daily it is essential to change your blade weekly. And at about 17cents a blade the value is there.
The short answer is go with the Sharks you will not regret it. Order from Super Safety Razors here on Amazon. The offer top notch service and quality products. They can't be beat.

I'm an old guy...started shaving with a straight razor (my dad was a barber and taught me how to use one back in the day-late 50's), but had to change to a DE when I entered the Army (something about no weapons allowed in the barracks...go figure.

Over the years, I adapted to the newer shaving technologies but was never really satisfied with my shave (that shaving twice a day thingy is a real PITA) and went back to a DE...damn the nicks, full speed ahead!

I decided to give these a shot. They're OK but I don't think they're as sharp as the Personnas and I know I don't get as many shaves with them-two vs. five.

Since everyone has different beards and experiences, I won't say these won't work for you, but I will suggest you try them before ordering a hundred of them.

If they work for you, this is an incredible value.

After using only electric razors since I started shaving (about 10 years ago), I decided to try out a Double Edge razor. I had heard tons of reviews about how much cheaper a DE razor was than a normal 4 or 5 blade modern razor. So when I bought a Merkur razor, I just went ahead and ordered Merkur blades. I liked that I got far less irritation getting a presentable shave (not too close) using the DE razor with the Merkur blades than I did with my old electrics. Then my package ran out and I decided to get these Shark Blades. They were significantly cheaper than the Merkurs.

I am soooooooo happy I bought these blades. I just used them for the first time after not shaving for 4 days. The hair on my face was roughly 1/4 of an inch long. The Shark blades just glided right over my face practically erasing the hair. They say that you should be able to hear the blade cutting the hair up. Well these were so smooth that I could barely hear them!!! The Merkur blades sounded like I was...Read more
