Keeping it short and sweet - look at my review about double edge or wet shaving. you should have gained two important points - once you master your shaving form and once you find the right blade for you - life is good. if you use or like any of the following stainless steel (not chrome) razors - ASCO, BIG BEN, SHARK - and you get a great shave with those blades - then the Derby Blades are for you. why? they work just as well as those brands (and probably many other stainless steel blades!) but they are much, much cheaper. for example just searching amazon you should find 100 blades for $12 bucks with a free shaving soap and free shipping thrown in!! search the internet (chat rooms, shaving clubs and other websites) and you may find them at a cheaper price!! again, going with the points I have listed - and you have truly tried other brands - you may find it to be an outstanding blade - on the cheap!!

These blades are a great value for what you get. I found that they balanced the aggressiveness with durability of the blade edge. There are sharper blades, like feather for example, but you'll end up nicking yourself. Not so with the Derbys. I get an average of 6-8 shaves out of them, and I have a medium beard (amount and coarseness). In bulk, you can save tons. I say stick it to those other manufacturers and their 5 blade disposables, and go safety razor.

I use them in the Merkur Classic Safety Razor, Straight - #178 - Made In Germany.

Everyone has a different shaving experience. With these blades, mine was bad. They cut me every time, no matter how i tried not nick myself. I have never had this problem as bad with any blade. I use a good quality cream, tried several blades, with the same bad result. For me, these blades just don't cut it!
