Unlike the other reviewer who gave this product only a one star I can't rave enough about this clipper. All I can think of is that they received a defective model right from the start because my clipper does not run hot at all. I use it twice a week for at least 10 minutes each time and it does a great job and clips smoothly and very close.

A piece of junk,

I bought this from Amazon.com about half a year ago. Right from the beginning, it's already quite a nuisance to use -- It gets hot rather quickly. Think of it as trying to shave/trim your body hair with a tiny hot iron, especially when it touches some sensitive areas. So I limit its use to a maximum of 2 minutes each time, i.e., I am using it 2 minutes every week. However, less than 2 months, this Andis cordless trimmer (model D5) refused to work. I have been charging it when not in use. Oiled it before the first use, and another one time after 1 month. I couldn't think of any reason other than it is simply a faulty product. Maybe I ought to stay away from Andis products altogether.

Works good. I wish the battery lasted longer and I also wish that the charger was not the whole cradel, cause when i travel, I now have to take the whole big cradel. If the charger was small, it makes travel easier and the charger should be universal (110-240 volts), but it only works on 110 volts.
However, the trimmer itself does a good job.
