First off, I have been using and own top of the line Norelco shavers for many years.I have a medium-heavy beard and must shave daily. The last one I purchased, a Spectra, cost $200 on sale and the replacement blades are $37. So when I saw a Braun for $25, I thought it would be a good back up shaver. It will work out well for that purpose.
The shave is very impressive; close and comfortable; as close as the Spectra. It is lightweight and ergonomically designed; has a charge and low charge light, comes with a little flexible case and even Braun lubricating oil. It is pretty quiet. It is washable under hot running water, too!
The downsides (and why it is so inexpensive) are that it is made in Indonesia rather than Germany and has some outdated ni-cad battery system that only gives 25m shaving for 8h charge (my Spectra gives 100m for 1h charge). It would be a little cumbersome to travel with, as it uses an external transformer.
