As usual, the lather is more lukewarm than "hot". The lather temperature is not changed from other similar devices I have used over the past few years. Those of the late '70s and '80s got the lather hotter but we cannot risk lawsuits from persons who can't help doing stupid things with hot items. However, it is much better than the lather straight out of the can on a cold winter morning.
This device should be easier to pack for travel if you are so inclined.
My recommended lather: Gillette Foamy. Foamy is really thick out of the can but after it passes through the warming device it is just about the right consistency. Maybe a little watery.

I have used a hot lather dispenser which was made by Conair for many years. It had stopped getting as hot as it should have several years ago but I was unable to find a replacement so I just left it on longer. I was better than not heating the lather at all. I found this Conair product on Amazon a few weeks ago and ordered it, It arrived in record time and I have been using it for a few days. It works perfectly. The lather get very hot in just a minute or two. I would recommend the item to anyone. If it last as long as my last one did I will remain a happy camper.
