Slide the button, switch the blades. No need to detach and attach blades, release your hand form the trimmer, or even shut off the power. Just use the thumb to alternate between the two blades.

My boyfriend loves this item. I had got him a different trimmer for Christmas but the plastic size guide was too long, the comb end was going up his nose when he tried to trim his beard upwards. This one the pieces are nice and short and don't get in the way.
