Comment: This is my second one...the first got broke in move. I liked it because it gets real close. I do not have problems with it 'nicking' me, and I really get in there! It seems to get the small hairs right at the edge, the difficult ones in the nooks, and the far back ones we should probably leave alone. After the 1st one broke I bought the best one at Walmart and it did a poor job. I was going to try the best selling one on Amazon, but hey, I knew this one worked. It does take two batteries, perhaps that is why it is powerful and able to cut close. I do not use the 'tilt' feature. I use it only on my nose. Their is a problem with the battery cover sliding off when you operate the on/off switch if you are not gentle, but I still recommend this item. The smell it gives off no doubt is because of the high speed, powerful motor breaking in...both of mine had them when new. I am not concerned with how loud the device is...though if I was, I would try a battery free/manual version. The single battery one from walmart is about 75% as loud as this one. Also, although the top should be popped off and rinsed after each use, the rest of the unit is not to be submerged or showered with. This item at Target.com is [...]w/ shipping (checked today, 12/27/2008).

Comment: I learned of this item as it was featured in Men's Health magazine. I am not real pleased with the performance. The motor is strong but the cutting performance is poor and the pivoting head more of a gimmick than functional. I have yet to find a good trimmer that does not rip hairs out and does what it claims.

Comment: Very disappointed. Purchased after reading reviews on most of the nose trimmers out there. I've had the Sharper Image standard trimmer for years and even after 2 years it works much better than the Conair trimmer. When using the Conair for the first time I experienced a bunch of stinging needle prick sensations that I guess must be the hairs being ripped out instead of trimmed. Which is weird because when turned on the trimmer is so loud I'm pretty sure it'd power the lawn mower for at least three weeks. Along with the pain, there is a nice burning smell to really round off the whole experience. So, um..yeah...not so much! It was seriously one painful nick after the other.

Comment: This bugger has power. The head is a bit larger than most, and it is LOUD. It does an ok job, but not as good as the Panasonic I had before. It doesn't trim as close as I'd like. If the size and attributes of the Panasonic could be combined with the power of the Conair, it'd be perfect.
