I had a chance to put this to the test 2 days after I received it - we had a HUGE windstorm during the night. I set this on "white noise" and was able to sleep through the night, unlike during other windstorms. I travel a lot and wanted a "white noise" machine small enough to take with me, for all those noisy hotel rooms I seem to get stuck in. Not only is this a nice small size, but it has a clock radio too, so I don't need to take my travel clock. I like that it works either on batteries or with the AC adapter.

I am an extremely light sleeper - which means I need to drown out noises from outside to be able to sleep soundy. A noisy fan works for me, but I cannot carry it with me when travelling. This sound machine has various different sounds to choose from, and it does a wonderfull job of drowing out surrounding noises. The best thing I like about this one is, that it runs both on AC or AA batteries which last for about 4 full nights (8 hrs each night on Alkaline batteries). I hardly ever used the AC adaptor, I simply buy the AA batteries where ever I go.

Compact to travel,

I have a Homedics sound machine (which is OK) but bought this as a gift. It has better quality sounds (I can't hear the repeat)and can mix the sounds like other $15 models can't. Plus you get a clock, dual alarm and radio for only $30. It has the adapter (battery capable)and is very compact to travel. I think I'll ditch the Homedic one and get this for me too!
