I bought this awhile ago as a set to get started in the art of shaving with a straight razor. I have a bit of experience with razors and such, and i know how to get them sharp. This kit is a good kit by all standards. If you are getting into this for the first time, I will say that it is very rewarding, relaxing, and if it matters to you, it is also greener since you are not adding disposable razors to the landfills. It is also MUCH cheaper in the long run, with savings starting at around a year since you are no longer buying cartridges and such. Straight razors are a lifetime investment if taken care of properly. It really helps me start out my day more relaxed when I take the time to properly shave in the mornings, and I would recommend it to anybody. Be forewarned though. This isn't something you can just pick up. Be prepared to get a few cuts when you first start out.
