This was my first time purchasing/using a straight razor. I read through a number of reviews and articles and concluded that Dovo was the brand of razor to buy. As I was aware of from the start, it's been somewhat difficult starting out in that I'm not yet able to get a really close shave. It also took some time figuring out the best way to handle the razor, but all of this I'm sure is common for all straight razors. This particular one is certainly made quite well as it feels and looks solid. I've been using a Fromm strop (also from amazon.com) and I do think that's helping. I'm also glad I went with the 5/8" blade rather than a longer one as I think that would make it too difficult to shave with.

Despite still getting used the straight razor experience, I have to say I definitely enjoy it, and I am glad to have this razor to guide me through the experience.

I first saw this razor's price and thought why is it so expensive but after reading a some reviews, I decided to try this out, and I must say it was worth the money, it arrived before the estimated time, it came ready to shave, it was very sharp but I did a little honing just to make sure, well when it all comes down to it you can't go wrong with this purchase.

This was my first straight razor. At first I wasn't too happy with it, as it was not shaving very well. After some research, I decided I should get it honed. I did this, and now it works great. I would recommend this razor to anyone looking for a decent shave.
