5/8" Carbon Steel Blade--Col Conk exclusive, black handle Made By Dovo

This is a great razer. I ordered the one with the black handle. It came really quick and I was eager to use it right away. The thing to keep in mind with a straight razer though is that none of them come "ready to shave" as the last reviewer thought. You either have to take it to a shop to get sharpened or sharpen it yourself. But a good sharp straight razer makes shaving a lot more fun, and less of a chore.

The edge was good although it needs to be honed it can shave tho. but not good enough to shave against the grain.

Great starter razor. The round tip is very forgiving. Even though this is the cheapest Dovo out there, it's still a Dovo. It takes and holds an edge beautifully and gives a great shave.

A word of advice, you can probably try shaving with it as is, but you might find it a bit tugging. I recommend going to one of the straight razor enthusiast forums (use your google-fu) and find a "honemiester" to sharpen it up to its full potential. DO NOT take it to your run-of-the-mill knife grinder or you will ruin it-- This is not a kitchen knife!
