I had never used epilator before, so this review applies to both this particular model and the epilator in general.
It works much better than I expected. Make no mistake about it, it's not painless. It's often extremely painful while often little more than tickling sensation, depends on the location and the thickness of the hair. Good thing about it is that most locations which give you the most pain are hidden from the public view, so you can take as much time as you wish. If it's not for days, you can take weeks to complete. Visible parts such as arms and legs are relatively painless. If you start there first, then you may feel it painful but if you start in more painful location, you'll feel much more comfortable.

The reasons I chose this particular model are:

1) Price.
It was the cheapest. I didn't want to jump on top of the line while I wasn't sure if I'll like it and keep using it. It turned out I got more than I paid for.

I had a similar emjoi device for years. I dropped it so many times that I thought it was indistructable. Alas, after one drop too (way too) many it started buzzing funny and I ordered emjoy DIVINE. So far I dropped it only three or four times - no affect on productivity. The DIVINE is even better that the previous battery opereated model, if at all possible. I only use it for underarms and well... to achieve the brazilian wax effect. DIVINE it is, as in DIVINE results. For arms and legs I would recommend the straight head, not the curved head, model since the skin is rougher, tougher and thicker and won't get pinched.

Like the other reviewer I've never had an epilator before and I didn't want to spend tons of money on something if it was possible I wouldn't be able to use it. As it is I just used this on my legs a bit and it works very well. Since this is my first I can't compare it to anything else but I can say I'm glad I got this. The pain was not what I expected, it's more a hot feeling than a plucked feeling. Already I'm getting used to it. The sound is the same as an electric razor so not too bad but it's not silent either and I think the sound is the scariest part about it. Well, that and looking at the tweezer disks spinning. Other than that it's cute, girly, and cheap so I have no regrets about this impulse purchase.
