e shave makes three grades of this brush. The least expensive grade is badger, the middle grade is fine, and the best is silvertip badger. This ad said it was silvertip, but when I received it, I didn't look at it closely. After I used the brush, I saw that the handle was labeled "fine", which is the middle grade brush. I suggest if you want the silvertip badger brush you should pay the $140.00 for it and purchase it directly from e shave. I did email the seller and got the response that they would check with the warehouse.
