I was suprised when I started using safety razors that I actually felt bad about not having a proper disposal container for double edged razor blades. At home I just made a slit in the lid of a glass jar with a metal lid and viola', a safe place for the blades. I couldn't see carrying the blades around with me on business and didn't like dropping a bare blade into a trash can where some maid would come along and possibly cut herself...so...I bought a little metal box. It's about 8 bucks with shipping. It seems like a lot but that's no more than you spend on a few disposables.
You might not buy this particular blade box to keep the used ones from endangering others but you should always dispose of them safely. After all, they are still very sharp and many of these blades get a bit of blood on them from time to time.
