I have gotten my bikini line waxed professionally once before but I usually wax it myself at home using the Sally Henson Wax Strip Kit for brow/face/bikini. I have to admit that the wax strip kit is easier only because it doesn't require a microwave, BUT I definitely would much rather use the Gigi Brazilian Bikini Hard Wax Microwave Kit!!! I was surprised when I read that the hard wax isn't as painful as other wax options and IT'S TRUE. The hard wax doesn't stick to your skin like other 'sticky' waxes do. Therefore, your skin doesn't get pulled and it isn't as irritated afterwards. Yes, it does still hurt because you ARE pulling hair out by the roots but it doesn't hurt like you'd expect. The hard wax also has a very pleasant scent and cleans up fairly well once it dries. I had read someone's review who recommended sitting on newspaper because of how messy it was. I agree that the first couple of times you try it, I would sit on a piece of paper or something that doesn't...Read more

I just used this wax kit for my very first bikini wax and I am so impressed! I've never had a bikini wax before and I wasn't quite sure what to do, so I read the directions very carefully and followed all the steps and also watched a few how- to videos. Simply pop the wax into the microwave, stir it up, and spread it on. I think the best way is to put it on a small area each time. And make sure you leave enough of a "tab" on the end so you're not pulling out hairs as you try to get a good grip on the wax. I found that it took out of all of the hairs with one pull and honestly, it didn't hurt THAT bad. Yes, it hurt, hello you're pulling out hairs around a very sensitive area...but if you want hair free skin and don't want to shave, then stop complaining and suck it up. Overall, I would definitely recommend this kit. The pre-epi oil worked great, it made the wax only stick to the hair and not the skin. I didn't see an issue with having to re-microwave the wax, it stayed warm for me the...Read more

I swear by this stuff. I have pretty sensitive skin, and shaving always irritates me so badly that a day or two after cleaning up my bikini line I end up with multiple ingrown hairs and many many ugly/painful razor bumps (even with new razors, good shaving cream, aftershave and baby powder). This is time-consuming to do well, but the result is worth the effort. I am thinking about springing for the 14-oz kit with the warmer so that I don't need to run back and forth to the microwave, though.
