5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Wax I've Tried, June 2, 2010

I've tried nearly every type of wax that Gigi sells. I don't have sensitive skin, but this one is by far the easiest to work with and, most importantly, its water soluable, so its easy to clean off your skin or if you get drips on clothes or around the bathroom.

Once I was using the regular honee wax and I accidently spilled it on my hand and arm and all over the floor. Well, my hand was burned pretty badly, and I couldn't peel the wax off without also peeling off skin. After keeping the burns under running cold water for a while, I put some talc over the wax to keep it from sticking to everything, then I just had to leave it on my body until it wore off. The mess around the bathroom was nearly impossible to clean up. I had to go and buy the special wax remover to get it up. With the Cream Wax, if you do spill, you just wash it off.

I have been doing my own waxing for years, and I can say, without a doubt, that the cream wax is the way to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well when used properly, May 1, 2008

I just used this wax for the first time last night. I have to say it's very easy to reduce the effectiveness of this wax. However, if used properly, it can work very well! First of all, you have to heat it up for atleast 30 minutes until its consistency is similar to paint - you should be able to dip your spatula in and lift it out and have a nice stream of wax falling back into the pot - if it's not quickly falling back in, then it's not warm enough. It won't be so thin that the wax will come completely off the spatula though. And once it's properly warmed, then spread as thin a layer as possible onto the skin.

This is how I did and it worked very well w/ minimal problems.

This wax is great!
Sometime last year I realized how much I was spending monthly on waxing and almost fell down. I started asking my esthetician about different products and she told me exactly what to buy.
GiGi Crème wax, the pink one; GiGi wax warmer with low-Med-Hi on/off settings, muslin strips and warmer collars. Add the wooden spatulas and I was able to buy everything for the same amount of money as one waxing visit.
This works great on underarms, bikini and legs. I don't wax anywhere else so I can not review on face or other body parts.
My recommendations, it takes a while to get to the right temperature/consistency. When you know you are going to wax, turn it on High about an hour before, and then put it on Medium when you are ready to wax. If it is too hot/thin or too cool/thick, it will not work right. So we are looking for a Goldie Locks situation for optimal waxing conditions...Just right.
You should apply a very thin layer of wax; a...Read more
