This is the first 'Double Edge Safety Razor' I've used since I learned to shave with my dad's razor about
40 years ago. The quality is superb, and it is attractive considering it's just a razor. Even though I like
the long handle, after using it for a month I think a regular size handle would work for me just as well.
Although this review is for the 'razor', which is excellent by the way, you need to look at the whole experience
of this type of shaving to get the full picture. The shaving you do with a Double Edge razor is not the
'wham bam, thank you ma'am' shave that you do with today's five blade razor. You take your time, use the right
brush, the right cream and finish it off with a good after shave.
Don't be put off if you get a few nicks in the beginning. It's part of the learning curve. After having the
razor for a month now, it has actually become a part of the day that I really look forward to. Sometimes I catch
