UPDATE:
I've found the 2 sides of this thing are slightly different,
so I *still* end up with 1 rightly-set side & 1 slightly-off side,
so I'm still looking.
Someone recommended the LORD brand razor, another recommended the Feather,
so I'll try 'em,
but I no longer consider this to be as excellent as I did when I bought this, months ago.

I'm in Canada, so nearly all the sellers of this Merkur Futur won't ship to Canada
( buzzards :P )
so, eventually I discovered that The Grooming Lounge did,
and bought it through Amazon.com's Grooming Lounge storefront/marketplace/

I'm a little disappointed in the Futur. The head is much bulkier than it needs to be. The large head does get in the way. It's also heavy. Mine has a satin finish and I've had no problems with it being slippery - nice finish.
With the included Merkur blade a setting around 2.5 gave a good shave. With the Derby blades I use in my Edwin Jagger razor I have to adjust the Futur all the way back to 1. The value I see with the adjustability feature is that it can probably be made to work with most blades for most people. With a non-adjustable razor one must find the blades which adequately match the razor. Of course once an appropriate blade is found a good quality non-adjustable is going to be much less bulky to work with. I find I much prefer shaving with the Edwin Jagger.
