Merkur HD Blue-Handle Barber Pole 38C

If you are dying to know whether this is a good razor to buy, here's the answer: no, get a regular 38C instead. It is a beautiful tool, matches my eyes and my bathroom, but no, they didn't cut anything into the handle to make it easier to grip. Keep your hands dry and you will get a great shave. The razor is heavy and perfectly balanced, works well and looks great wherever you put it. BUT if I knew then what I know now, I would have saved a few dollars and gotten the 38C and not worried about it getting slippery.

I purchased this razor and I am very impressed with the weight, balance and shave. It is a wonderfully designed tool. I must agree with the other review about it tending to slip in your hand when wet. To resolve this problem you can do one of two things: keep your hand dry or lace a small, 3/16 wide rubber band around the hand while shaving. The rubber band solves the grip problem without changing the balance or weight. IMHO, it actually improves the feel. Since this is one of the best looking DE razors, I will never part with it. Just take the rubber band off after shaving and put this baby on display.
