I have owned many Norelco razors in the past. The last two razors that I owned were the 6863XL and the 5841XL. After the battery finally gave out on my 6863XL I decided that it was time to upgrade to a newer model. I bought a Norelco 8251 as a replacement for my old razor. It ended up having to go back because the battery wouldn't hold a proper charge, but I also noticed right from the first shave the lack of power. It ran at about half the speed as my old razor. I wanted to know if this was because of the problem with the battery, or if it was the razor itself, so I called Norelco's customer support hotline. After spending some time talking on the phone with them I learned some things. The newer razors aren't as powerful and don't run as fast as the older Norelco Quad razors. They said that I would never be happy with one of the newer razors if that was the most important feature to me in a razor. I have had no issues with this product. I use this when I travel, I use it more as a back up unit.
