Comment: Powerful and very silent, Oster clippers last forever. My brother bougth his back in 1992, that's right 18 years ago, and the clipper still works perfectly. Great value and quality for under 50 dollars, what else do you want.

Comment: I started cutting my hair at home about 2 years ago. I cut my hair every week and keep it short & tight. This is the 3rd different brand I've used. My last pair of clippers were Wahl and I was extremely disappointed. The clippers were so loud. These Oster clippers are extremely quiet and cut through my hair so easily. I wear my hair short, so the attachments that came with the clippers were fine, but I would still recommend buying a set of attachments that will go you more choices. If you are looking to cut hair at home, I would definitely recommend these clippers.

Comment: Recently my ten-year-old Wahl clipper died. For almost twenty years I've been cutting my own hair with a Wahl clipper my dad gave me when I was sixteen then, after losing that one and going through a long hair phase as a young man, with my second Wahl clipper I bought a decade ago. On the rare occasion that I've gone to a barber I would come home dissatisfied and, within an hour, inevitably clip the rest of my hair off. Also, being someone who has shaved their face clean less times than years gone by since I bought my second Wahl I've used my clipper to keep my Jason Statham-y stubble from drifting into homeless drifter stubble.
I've never had a problem with my Wahl until recently and didn't think much about buying another pair, but once it died, I figured I'd give a cursory glance at clipper reviews since I so frequently use one. The only brand that mattered on anyones list of best clippers was Oster. Even with my skepticism that any clipper could be more effective than the one that has been getting the job done for a decade reviewers raved about Oster so much it seemed worth a try. I have to admit, having used them once I was impressed enough to write my first internet product review.
Cutting my hair with the Oster took about half the time it would have taken with my Wahl. I can see the difference in the evenness of the cut. When I had more hair and would clip it more often between 1" and 1/2" and I liked the sort of choppy look the Wahl made. But, over the past few years as I've been losing the hair on the top of my head, I've been cutting it more 1/8" or not using a comb attachment at all. I figured the unevenness of my hair was due to hair loss but have discovered with the even cut of the Oster that when cutting hair so close to the scalp mistakes and varying lengths are just more obvious.
If this clipper only lasts a year I'd still stay it was worth the fifty bucks I spent on it.
