Bought an ES8092 two years ago to replace a discontinued Pansonic model I dearly loved and was giving up the ghost. The ES8092 was as terrible, as bad, as the earlier model was good...very loud, slow (took twice as long to shave with mediocre results, and had to touch up with a blade). Even though I'd tried all the other major brands of shavers with less than stellar results, I was ready to say adios to Panasonic for good. Then I read some reviews of the model preceding the ES8164s and decided to give Panasonic one more chance. Settled on the updated model ($50 less expensive) and, wow, am I glad I did.

I've been using it for about two weeks now and love it. It is quieter than the ES8092, shaves much closer and faster, and the egronomics are far supierior. The handle is thiner/better shaped and the rubberized material is tackier when wet, making it much easier to hold in the shower. Does not irritate your skin. Performs as promised. By getting the latest one, you can get replacement parts longer (got hard to find ES8003)

I highly recommend that you are extremely careful with your Panasonic razor to never let it fall to the floor and you will get good life out of the screen. My previous screen wore out quickly but I was too careless in where I put the razor when I first bought it, and dropped it several times.

I finally completely ruined it when I stepped on the screen. This replacement (which I bought with the shaver heads) completely restored the excellent, and now that I'm being careful to always stash it in the medicine cabinet has not had any diminished performance in several months of use.

I do recommend keeping the razor charged above 50% as well for best performance.
