Great Shaver for face and head,

This review is from: Philips Norelco Electric Razor SensoTouch 3D 1260X
I read the previous review and agree with the single head vs the 3 head when it comes to cleaning. That's as far as I will go. My whiskers curl. If I skip a day of shaving, my old single head with the 3 floating blades is not near a good. I get a little razor burn and sometimes ingrowns when using my very good single head.
I have learned it is a good idea to clean after every use or plan on replacing the head annually through the "program". This device takes care of many of the issues with the single head design. It is more work to clean than flipping open the single head. The heads really float much bettter with my aging head and face. I find the three head design with the three separate heads designed to pick all types of hair do what they are supposed to. I think this beyond whatever I could image for a shaver. They do tell you in the instructions that it takes 30 days for your face to adjust... I quit using my safety razor and switched to this exclusively vs a...Read more

I love this razor.,

I started using this razor while working with Philips on an unrelated project -- I was given one for use and comparison with a blade. I used a Norelco Triple header in the 80's and liked that, and then used a later version to get that "stubble look." But for the past 10+ years I've used a blade: I liked the closeness, but was definitely in the market for something "nick proof." As I've gotten older (I'm now just past 50) it's gotten easier to nick myself (probably because I'm generally in a hurry...)
My first experience with the SensoTouch 3d was flying home from Amsterdam, shaving on the plane as we got near New York. I'd never have tried this with a blade, and as a frequent traveler I love that I can shave quickly and easily on the plane. The shave? Every bit as close as my blade, and actually better since I can zero right in on little spots that the blade wither missed ... or too often resulted in a nick (like, right above my upper lip). Works wet (in the shower) or dry...Read more

Vs Panasonic foil system,
July 19, 2011 Paul E. Stepp (CORBIN, KY, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Philips Norelco Electric Razor SensoTouch 3D 1260X
My first elec. shaver was a remington with the three blade system just like this one. When I replaced it I tried a foil razor which was a panasonic brand used it for 4+ years with one blade replacement. My second panasonic lasted for 7+ years. I upgraded to the Panasonic Linear which was an awesome shaver, my hair grows in every direction and problems with ingrown hairs as well. Since my blades were getting dull after 3 years (btw it still runs strong and battery lasts 7 days on a charge with shaving every day). I decided to purchase this Norelco 1260X, right out of the box it looks awesome, fast charge time and the 3 pivioting heads was going to give me a shave of a life time... WRONG... I did break it in but after a few weeks of my neck looking like I had acid thrown on it from the burn the shave of this new razor was no where near my dull 3 year old Panasonic.
In my life time I have owned 3 total panasonics, a remington, and a norelco and if you want a shave as...Read more
