The refill cartridges are not cheap, and until recently the packaging has been environmentally embarrassing. But they're the best of the choices we have, so I'm a loyal user. So much so that I thought it was a great idea to order them via Amazon's Subscribe & Save program. Cheaper than WalMart and they deliver free right to my door... what's not to like? THIS: the product you get (at least through Subscribe & Save) is not the same product that's currently sold in stores under this brand. A year or more ago, Schick switched to a 4-blade cartridge that gives a closer shave with fewer cuts and nicks. That's what you'll find on the store shelves. However, after the first shipment or two, I found that my Subscribe & Save cartridges are the old 3-blade stock that's probably been sitting on their shelves for a while. Since the Schick Intuition came out (2004 or so), I've been in love with it! Shaving my legs is sooooo easy, quick, and painless (I've NEVER nicked or cut myself while shaving with the Intuition). I've used several of the Intuition and Intuition Plus cartridges, but these are one of the besst. They are moisturzing and smoothing, smell good (though Cucumber Melon is--by far--my favorite scent), and they glide effortlessly over my skin. No missed hairs, whatsoever! As good as the Advanced Moisture ones are, I prefer the Milk & Honey Plus cartridges. They seem to be much more moisturizing and smooth (I don't have dry skin, but I notice the difference). I shave my legs and underarms every day and each cartridge lasts me at least 3 weeks before showing the green part, at which point you're supposed to replace them. I order these refills thinking they were a good value. I don't know if they had been sitting on the shelf for a while or what but they only lasted through one use then the moisturizing bar that surrounds the blades fell off, making it unusable. This was a big waste of money. The 1 star rating is not about the actual refills, just this particular one. |
