Let's get one thing out of the way right off the bat: this product is twice as good as what you can buy in the grocery store. Having said that, let's compare it to it's true peers: relatively inexpensive but "gourmet" shaving products such as Proraso and Musgo Real.
Performance-wise, I think it's in the same league. Great lather, great shave. But there's something about the smell that I don't care for. Your mileage may definitely vary. I say if you're looking for affordable imported shaving cream to use with a badger brush, try Musgo Real. And get some cooling Proraso for the heat of summer.

What an amazing smell. Just like the rich foam that comes out of the hot lather machine at the barbershop. Amazing consistency that whips up in under a minute. Gives a perfectly lubricated canvas that your razor will dance on. After all being said, it's the smell of this stuff that keeps me coming back for more. I wish my hair grew faster just so I could whip a batch of this stuff up more often.

Not as great as all the reviews. Takes more time to get a decent lather and then is a bit thin. Closer to shaving soap. I don't want to spend an extra two minutes a day trying to work up a lather. If you are looking for a budget cream, try Taylor of Old Bond Street.
