It's a decent, cheap stand for the price, but I found it to be more of a financial waste only a month later now investigating something sturdier. The loose metal bowl gets in the way, and jumps around easily (I never use it anymore, it fits poorly on it's landing, and flops around when you grab other items). The brush stays in in place, but I found my straight razor dances around a bit in it's holder, and as a result slipped on me... so much so that I just took it out and put it in a basic, secure stand for toothbrushes!

If you're buying an expensive straight razor, you'd be better off buying something more secure for your blade (even a thick coffee mug or a stand from target or Container Store for tall items like this in your bathroom)... or else you'll be paying more money re-honing it when it slips out and bangs on your sink. Like I did.

The brush spot is just fine, btw, but worthless as just a simple brush stand (and annoying as just a brush stand).

The finish on this item flaked off right out of the box. I would not purchase this item. Spend the money and purchase a higher quality item.

It could certainly be cheaper, but it is more sturdy than other stands I have seen. I like the fact that the bowl is not attached like is is for some other stands, and it keeps a wet brush from making a mess on the sink top. It holds my Merkur Futur razor just fine, but is not a "tight" fit so to speak. I like the stand, but just wish it were cheaper.
