I can't stop wondering how I shaved before having Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream! The aroma is indulgent and makes lathering up a pleasure. The fragrance is just enough that you can smell it for a few minutes after you rinse, but wears off so it does not interfere with your cologne. Knowing that my cream is not a pile of chemical goop makes me feel better too. Knowing that one tub will last me almost 18 months gives me a great feeling too.

The best tip I can give a new user is that less is definitely more with Taylor. A dollop about the size of an olive pit or small grape is all you need. I also learned that lathering it in my hand with the brush first gave me better results.

It's my first try at old-fashioned safety razor shaving with my stiff beard. This shaving cream made it easy.

I skip the mixing bowl. While the bowl makes lots of fun lather, I only need a thin layer for the razor to slide over. Just a finger-tip dab of this soft cream on each cheek and each side of the throat. Then I swirl it around on my skin with the moistened badger brush (Omega Stripey 100% Pure Badger Shaving Brush with Stand-#63171 Made in Italy). Then wait a couple minutes to soak in. Then stir up the skin again.

I slide the razor (Derby Extra Double Edge Razor Blades) with a slight tilt along the grain of my beard. The big trick is learning not to press. After years of those big-name but lame disposable razors, I need to unlearn the press-and-scrape backhoe-against-dirt technique. Instead, it's a light-handed glide-and-slide along the slick surface of this shaving cream, like an ice-skater on a frozen pond.

I had read numerous reviews and articles about getting "the perfect wet shave" before choosing this product and I was thoroughly pleased with the outcome of my decision making. Taylor of Old Bond Street products are the ultimate moisture locking and aromatic known to man-kind. I have used the almond shaving cream with a fairly expensive brush and I never get skin irritation as I used to. I still use my Gillette fusion and the real difference was in the shaving cream. I just finished my first tub of this stuff and it lasted me over 6 months of regular shaving. Great buy! Looking forward to trying the other scents and maybe the soaps too.
