I bought these because I had grown a beard and needed a good pair of scissors to do fine trimming that is always necessary following the coarse cutting of electric clippers. These have stainless steel blades with beveled edges, which cut well but are nowhere near as smooth or accurate as scissors with curved blades. The grips for thumb and finger are coated with some type of plastic that is just textured enough to keep the scissors from slipping in one's hand. I had a beard years ago, when I was in graduate school, and then used a pair of surgical scissors to keep it neat and trimmed. Those scissors have been long gone, but it was the memory of how smoothly and accurately they cut that made me want to try these. I have several kitchen knives by Henckels, so I assumed the same quality and craftsmanship. Not so. These are not bad, and are no doubt a bargain considering the price, but they probably belong in the lower end of the overall quality spectrum for beard trimming scissors...Read more

For me, this is the perfect pair of scissors for cutting/detailing 2 Shi Tzu dogs every other month. The blade length is perfect (and I've tried a few different lengths). I also find the scissors to be nice and sharp, sometimes taking a patch of skin cleanly of my own finger if I'm not paying attention. And the price is perfect for replacing them every few years when they get just dulled enough to retire to office work. Probably not perfect for everyone, but I swear by them for barbering my dogs.

I was somewhat disappointed when I received these shears. The main problem I have with them is that they are are not pointy- but have rather blunt tips. This is not good for detailing tiny areas.
